はじまります is “starts” and おわります “ends”, said of events rather than people.

はじまります is “starts” and おわります “ends”, both polite forms. The event is the topic and the verb comes last: じゅぎょうは はちじはんに はじまります. The clock time takes に, and から…まで frames a whole range: テストは くじから じゅうじまでです.
