How it works

The topic particle は (topic) flags 学校がっこう (school) as what we're talking about — "as for school…". After it comes just the na-adjective 好きすき (liked), with no copula at all. In casual speech you can drop です (is) entirely and let the rising ？ (?) carry the question. The result is a quick, friendly "do you like it?"
