大丈夫

How it works

Two quick casual questions with nothing but rising intonation to mark them — no question word, no か (question) needed. The first is just 大丈夫だいじょうぶ (okay) on its own, asked as “you okay?”. In the second, は (topic) raises 怪我けが (injury) as the topic, and ない (isn't, none) is the plain negative of ある (to exist) — literally “as for injury, there isn't any?” The plain forms make it sound close and worried, the way you'd speak to a friend.
