How it works

This is the simple “A is where?” question pattern. は (topic) raises 台所だいどころ (kitchen) as the topic — “as for the kitchen…” — and the question word どこ (where) sits where the answer will go. In casual speech there’s no copula at the end: the rising tone (and the ？) does the work, so どこ (where) stands bare instead of taking a polite です (is).
