How it works
Two pieces joined by a pause. First the set greeting はじめまして (nice to meet you) (literally “for the first time”), built from the polite-then-te form of はじめる (to begin). Then これ (this) is pointed out by が (subject), and casual だ (is) states what it is. The final よ (emphasis) adds a friendly “you know,” like sharing news.
