がんばって

do your best

ganbatte

In a sentence

がんばって頑張ってdo your bestおうえん応援cheeringしてるdoing

Do your best! I'm cheering for you!

How it works

Two casual encouragements back to back. First 頑張ってがんばって (do your best) — the te-form of 頑張るがんばる (to try hard), which on its own works as a light command "go for it!". Then 応援してるおうえんしてる (I'm cheering you on), where する (do) takes the progressive 〜てる (be doing) (the casual contraction of 〜ている). The final (you know) pushes the warm reassurance toward the listener: "I'm rooting for you!"
