がんばって

How it works

Two casual encouragements back to back. First 頑張って(がんばって) (do your best) — the te-form of 頑張る(がんばる) (to try hard), which on its own works as a light command "go for it!". Then 応援してる(おうえんしてる) (I'm cheering you on), where する (do) takes the progressive 〜てる (be doing) (the casual contraction of 〜ている). The final よ (you know) pushes the warm reassurance toward the listener: "I'm rooting for you!"
