How it works

This is about as short as a sentence gets: just a noun plus an i-adjective. バナナ (banana) is the topic and おいしい (delicious) is the comment, with no particle between them. Casual speech often drops the topic marker entirely, and the adjective ends the sentence on its own — no です (is) needed.
