Say something is becoming a certain way
Drop the final い of an い-adjective and add くなる to say something becomes that quality.

い-adjective (drop い) + くなる~kunaru
become [adjective] / get [adjective]
なる means 'to become', and with い-adjectives the adjective shifts its い ending to く before attaching. Use it for gradual or natural changes of state, such as getting bigger, hotter, or more expensive. For な-adjectives and nouns the parallel pattern uses に instead of く.
