How it works
は (topic) raises the topic (カブトムシ (beetle)) — "as for the beetle…". The predicate is the plain i-adjective 強い (strong), which can end a sentence all by itself. Because i-adjectives already act like "is-strong", no copula です (is) is needed, and leaving it off keeps the line casual.
